The Painted Portal is a 2D animated short featuring digitally illustrated background designs. Created for my first experimental animation class, this project was inspired by an assignment connected to the Museum of Fine Arts. As an artist deeply influenced by Frida Kahlo, I was captivated when I first saw her painting Dos Mujeres (Salvadora y Herminia) (1928) in person. I chose to reimagine that moment in a whimsical way—through the eyes of Mundi, my personal logo & globe character, as they experience seeing the painting for the very first time.
